Junior B Championship

We travelled to Rochfortbridge on Tuesday evening to take on St. Mary’s in the first round of the Junior B Championship. We were short a number of players for this game and despite a committed performance from all the lads on the night, St. Mary’s recorded the victory.

Team: Alan Maguire, Eoin McGowan, Davy Newman, Eoghan Murray, Matthew Hope, Gavin Lyons, Luke Rafferty, Noel Yourell, Conor Lyons, Padraig Keenan, Kenny Conroy, Brian O Hara, Cian Tighe, Brian Maguire & Chris Cole. Sub: Tommy Murphy

Solar Panels

We were delighted to welcome Gearóid from JFW Renewables on Friday to arrange installation of PV Panels. The club won a national competition recently for the installation of a solar system to the value of €10,000. This will have a huge impact for our community going forward as well as helping us become more sustainable. Sincere thanks again to Rachel Quinn who entered us into the competition in the first place.

Summer Camp

We are delighted to announce that this year's Bunbrosna Summer Camp will take place from the 30th June to the 2nd July so please save the date for this very popular annual event. More details and registration link to follow in the coming weeks.

Westmeath Ladies Football

Well done to our Underage Coaches Ciara & Maeve Molloy who were part of the Westmeath Minor Football team that played Longford on Saturday in the Leinster Championship in Cusack Park. Despite a strong and determined performance from Westmeath, Longford recorded a six point win at the end.

Westmeath Senior Hurlers

Well done to Shane McGovern and the Westmeath Senior Hurlers on their great win over Laois in the Leinster Championship on Saturday evening. This win secures their top flight status for another year and means they will play in the top level in league and Championship next year. Well done to all concerned.

Rounders

We fielded our first U14 mixed team in Mullahoran on Saturday evening against Erne Eagles, a club with a long tradition in rounders.

Our team put on a great display with super batting and mighty fielding by all. The challenge match was close with sides level at the end of the second innings, Erne Eagles pulled ahead in the 3rd with fantastic batting.

Bunbrosna held their own in the fourth innings and put Erne Eagles out quickly in the last thanks to our pitcher Beibhinn McGowan making the catches in succession. Thanks to Erne Eagles for the challenge.

We continue our underage and adults training and are always looking for new players to join us.

We host U14 All Ireland Semi finals next Saturday afternoon and these will be great games to watch.

Club Meeting

There will be a club meeting next Monday night 30th May. Stay tuned to next week's notes for more information.
