Royal Run to Bun

What an incredible weekend at Bunbrosna GAA. Thank you to absolutely everybody who took part in our Royal Run to Bun. We are overwhelmed with all the support and good wishes we have received over the weekend.

To all the people who took part in the solo challenge from Croke Park all down the canal line thanks for all your efforts, especially in the heat.

Well done to all our Underage club members and their families who took part in our sponsored walk this morning ,you were fantastic. And last but not least, a big Thank You to all who organised the refreshments and entertainment at the pitch afterwards. It all added to a really special weekend for the club.

The Go Fund Me page will remain open for a few days and can be accessed through our social media channels. All money raised will go towards funding our Astro Pitch which is presently under construction. We are truly grateful to everybody who has donated to the project to date.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Áine Newman who is the latest club member to win a Celtic Cross when Westmeath were crowned All-Ireland U16 Camogie Champions in Birr on Sunday last.

Áine not only is a fine player herself, she is a brilliant Underage coach who is always on hand to help with our Saturday morning coaching sessions.

Congratulations to Sarah Downes and Aine McKenna who are also representing Clann Gaels on this team. Well done to all.

Junior B Championship

We played Ballynacargy last Tuesday evening in the Junior B Championship. This game was called off just before Half Time owing to our Goalkeeper, Glen Thomsen falling ill. We wish Glen a speedy recovery and thank both physios and the Ambulance service for their work on the evening.

Underage

Well done to our under 7s, under 9s and under 11s on Saturday morning. We hosted our near neighbours Multyfarnham and played very competitive games at all age groups. The heat was intense, but all players played their hearts out. Well done everyone and thanks to Multy for travelling.

Speedy Recovery

We wish Speedy recovery to Matthew Molloy following recent injury.

Club Lotto

No winner of Club Lotto on Sunday. Numbers drawn were 12, 17, 22 & 28.

There were 2 Match 3 winners Aine Kiernan & Andy McCormack. Seller’s prize went to Lucy Duck.

Next draw will be held on Sunday 1st August. Jackpot now stands at €8000.

Rounders:

Our mixed team travelled to Swords on Friday to take on St. Finian’s. While we took an early lead in the first and second innings, the opposition caught up and the match finished at 36:37 against us.

Player of the match: Damien McCormack who got a home run as well as several outfield catches. Special mention goes to Kate McEvoy who played well in her first match with runs and catches.

Our second match of the weekend was at home to St. Clare’s. Many of them had won all stars in the past and this skill and knowledge showed through as they took every opportunity to get scores, but our players held their nerve and played well with the pitcher Paul Bardon showing his prowess by forcing in many strong batters to bat themselves out and was player of the match.

We are delighted to have the honour of hosting the first U12 Girls and Boys All Ireland finals next Sunday, with matches starting at 9.30am. The best of luck to all involved.

Football Fixture

We play Mullingar Shamrocks in Division 3 of the League on Friday at 7:30pm.
