ACFL Division 7 vs Tang

We travelled to Tang on Sunday for Round 5 of the Division 7 League. On a perfect day for football both teams served up an entertaining encounter with Tang recording a narrow 1:15 to 2:10 win.

Brian Maguire and Matthew Hope got Bun’s two goals while Darragh Lyons top scored for us with six points. There were strong performances throughout the team and was an opportunity for players to get much needed game time as preparations continue towards the summer.

Team: Cian Tighe, Conor Newman, Eoin McGowan, Dean O Brien, Matthew Hope, Gavin Lyons, Joe Tormey, Gordon Medforth, Enda Newman, Oisin Finn, Luke Kiernan, Aidan Conroy, Brian Maguire, Darragh Lyons & Andy Whitney. Subs: Jonny Nolan for O. Finn, O. Finn for B. Maguire.

Upcoming Fixtures

We play The Downs In Division 3 of the league on Monday 18th April at 7:30pm.

Fleadh Iarmhí

Bunbrosna had a fantastic day at the County Fleadh, with huge success across both set dancing and ceilí competitions. It was a proud occasion for the club to see all groups perform so well and be rewarded for the dedication, commitment and countless hours of practice put in over recent weeks. We are extremely proud of everyone who competed and represented Bunbrosna so brilliantly throughout the day.

Mixed set, O18, Johnny McCormack, Seamus Moran, Kenny Murphy, Tiernan Murphy, Veronica Moran, Alaine O'Reilly, Caroline Finnan & Katie Tyrell.

Ladies O35 Aimee Barrett, Sandra Eades, Veronica Moran, Emma McCormack, Bernie McHugh, Maura Buckley, Alaine O'Reilly, Caroline Finnan

Mixed O35 Christopher McCormack, Seamus Moran, Kenny Murphy, Veronica Moran, Aimee Barrett, Caroline Finnan, Alaine O'Reilly, Emma McCormack

The 3 sets danced the Claddagh set & was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.

Ceilí O18 Emily Beglan, Emer Geerah, Alaine O'Reilly, Katie Tyrell, Sarah Cawley, Anne Reynolds, Hazel Loughrey, Joanne Claffreky.

They danced the Morris Reel

4 Hand Reel Hazel Loughrey, Sarah Cawley, Katie Tyrrell, Gemma Lee

The ceilí dancing was fantastic. A lot of time was spent practicing under the careful eye of Maura Buckley and it showed yesterday. It was really fantastic to have Bunbrosna represented again in ceilí dancing after a number of years. Next competition will be Portlaoise at the end of June for the Leinster Final.

It was great to see stalwart Anthony McCormack back enjoying the entertainment also, we think he could give the dancers a run for their money.

Leinster Intermediate Camogie Final

Hard luck to the Westmeath Senior Camogie Team who lost out narrowly to Laois in the Leinster Final on Sunday. After an enthralling battle Laois recorded a 1:15 to 1:13 win. Hard luck to Barry and the Clann Gaels girls on the panel. We wish you all the best for the upcoming All Ireland Series.

Inny Shamrocks U14

Our U14's travelled to Delvin on Wednesday night last, to play the home side. Unfortunately we came up short to a strong home team on the night. Heads up lads! We will go again next time!

Inny Shamrocks U16

Our Inny Shamrock U16s put in a great performance in their entertaining draw with Multyfarnham in Bunbrosna last Monday evening. In ideal conditions for football, both teams showcased their skills, resulting in a closely contested and high-scoring match. Congratulations to the players and coaches on their commendable performance.

Inny Shamrocks Minors

On Wednesday night last Inny Shamrocks Minors travelled to Clonmellon to play Delvin/St.Pauls in Round 4 of the league. After a tough battle on a hot evening we came away with a well deserved win on a scoreline of 6-5 to 3-10. On another note it was great to see Finn Maher togged out after a long year out.

Leinster Senior Football Final

Best of luck to the Westmeath Senior Footballers on Sunday when they take on Dublin in the Leinster Final. In what is only the county’s sixth appearance in the Senior Final, we wish the players and management all the very best.

Condolences

Everyone at Bunbrosna GAA & LGFA is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Louise Murray, who will be fondly remembered for all her work and dedication to Bunbrosna Camogie throughout the late 80s and 90s.

Louise will be remembered for her friendship, commitment and the many happy memories shared over the years.

We extend our deepest sympathies to her children Frederick, Evelyn, Philip and Rosemary, her sister Anna, grandchildren, extended family and many friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
